2025 ASC Softball Championship Bracket
DALLAS, Texas – The 2025 American Southwest Conference Softball Championship seedings were finalized on the last day of the regular season. East Texas Baptist, who won the ASC Regular Season Championship this weekend, looks to defend its ASC Championship Title at home May 8-10.
The Tigers will host the championship for the second straight year and are primed to make another run after dropping only three games this season and holding the top nationally ranked spot throughout the entire season entering the postseason.
This will be the 27th ASC Softball Championship Tournament and will be a five-team, double-elimination format.
No. 1 Seed East Texas Baptist (37-3, 15-1 ASC) claimed the 2024 ASC Softball Regular Season Championship, only dropping one contest in conference action. ETBU will play the winner of the play-in game on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. This will be either LeTourneau or Howard Payne, who ETBU swept in each regular season series. The Tigers are making their 25th ASC Championship Tournament appearance and have the most wins (62) and wins percentage (.697) among active membership teams. Last season ETBU won its 12
th ASC title and later claimed the National Champion Title that season.
No. 2 Seed Hardin-Simmons (31-8, 11-5 ASC) will play in game two on Thursday, May 8 at 3:30 p.m. against Mary Hardin-Baylor. The Cowgirls earned a 3-1 series win against the Cru earlier this season. Hardin-Simmons made a national poll appearance at No. 25 before closing the regular season with a series against East Texas Baptist. The Cowgirls are making their 15th ASC tournament appearance and sixth consecutive. Hardin-Simmons is 19-24 overall in tournament play with their last conference title being in 2007.
No. 3 Seed Mary Hardin-Baylor (24-14, 8-8 ASC) will play in game two on Thursday, May 8 at 3:30 p.m. against Hardin-Simmons. The Cru have earned at least one conference win over each team this season, giving ETBU their one loss. UMHB is 28-48 in tournament play and is making their 25
th appearance.
No. 4 Seed LeTourneau (15-25, 6-10 ASC) will play Howard Payne to open the ASC Championship Tournament on Thursday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. The YellowJackets closed the regular season with a pair of wins over the Mary Hardin-Baylor last week. LeTourneau is making its 9th appearance and is 9-14 in the tournament. This is their sixth consecutive appearance.
No. 5 Seed Howard Payne (7-33, 0-16 ASC) will play LeTourneau in the first game of the Tournament on Thursday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. The winner of the contest will take on East Texas Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets make their 10th appearance and are 2-17 overall. Their last tournament appearance was in 2019.
