Tigers claim 2025 ASC Baseball Championship Title

MARSHALL, Texas – East Texas Baptist University claimed the 2025 American Southwest Conference Championship title with a 9-8 win over LeTourneau on Sunday in Marshall.

The Tigers jumped to an early lead, going up 8-0 through four innings. ETBU added one more in the sixth before LeTourneau got on the board in the eighth. The YellowJackets continued their fight in the final frame, adding six runs to cut the gap to 9-8, but could not overcome the deficit.

Pitching Decision:
Landry Powell earned the win for the Tigers, pitching 6.0 innings with no runs on five hits and five strikeouts. Will Podsednik took the loss for the YellowJackets with eight earned runs on three hits with one strikeout.

Stat Leaders:
Luke Finn and Luke Bumpus each recorded two hits for ETBU. Joaquin Costa led the Tigers with three RBI while Bumpus and Connor Massimini each totaled two. Isaac Price led the YellowJackets with three hits and four RBI while a trio added two hits each.

East Texas Baptist receives the American Southwest Conference Automatic Qualifier to the NCAA DIII Baseball Championship Tournament. This will be the Tiger’s third consecutive national tournament appearance.
