Marshall, Texas – East Texas Baptist’s Jason Bell Park at Taylor Field has been named the 2026 STADIONIC/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Field of the Year. This is the second time the Tigers’ softball home has received the award, with the first win coming in 2018.
Taylor Field opened in 1998 and was renamed in 2023 to honor the Bell family. Recent additions include a press box with suites, stadium seating, restrooms, a concession stand and an awards display. Upgrades in 2018 added artificial turf from Symmetry Sports Construction, a 3,000-square-foot clubhouse, padded walls, new backstops and a berm in centerfield for extra seating.
The field is no stranger to NCAA postseason softball. ETBU hosted the Division III National Championship in 2023 and 2024 and is set to host again in 2028. Jason Bell Park at Taylor Field has also been the site of eight NCAA Regionals, three Super Regionals and many ASC Tournaments. In 2024, the Tigers won their second national title in Marshall, making ETBU the first modern-day program to win a national championship on its home field.
ETBU will be recognized at the NFCA National Convention Annual Awards Brunch on December 12.
