RICHARDSON, Texas –Texas-Dallas senior forward Kyle Schleigh scored a tournament-high 38 points to lead the No. 1 Comets past No. 5 Texas-Tyler, 103-83 to advance to the ASC Championship on Sunday against No. 2 Hardin-Simmons.
 
Schleigh’s 38 points ties the ASC Tournament record for most points scored in a semifinal game (Jonathan Walker of McMurry, 2009). Junior guard Nolan Harvey and senior forward Carter Nash each posted a double-double with 16 and 11 points, respectively, and both handed out 10 assists.
 
Texas-Dallas advances to its fourth ASC Championship game in team history. The Comets won the title in 2005 and again in 2009 on their home floor. UTD’s last appearance in the championship game came in 2010.
 
Hardin-Simmons and Texas-Dallas split their regular season meetings and last met in the ASC Tournament in 2012 with the Cowboys taking a one-point win (64-63) in the semifinal round.
 
Senior guard Jordan Cannon led Texas-Tyler with a team-high 25 points. Cannon shot fifty percent from the floor (7-of-14) and hit all nine free-throws. The Patriots won their first game in the ASC Tournament in team history over No. 3 Mary Hardin-Baylor in the quarterfinal round and end their season at 15-12 overall.
