TYLER, Texas
-- Sarah Van Remmen scored a game-high 25 points, while the nation's leading scorer Danyel Bradley added 19, leading Howard Payne to an 83-64 win over Hardin-Simmons on Thursday.
Howard Payne (16-10) who is the No. 4 seed in the tournament, shot 48-percent for the game, while out-rebounding HSU (12-14) 46-35.
Van Remmen, who averaged 11.6 points per game in the regular season, exploded for 25 points and hauled-in 15 rebounds, eight above her season-average.
The Jackets opened the game on a commanding 22-to-6 run, with Van Remmen leading the way, scoring eight points in the first seven minutes.
Howard Payne took a 38-21 lead at the half, and did not let up in the second half, shooting 54-percent in the final 20 minutes, winning 83-64.
The Yellowjackets will take on the winner of the Texas-Tyler/Ozarks matchup at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Tyler.
