2022-23 ASC Women’s Golf Schedule
RICHARDSON, Texas – In a vote of the league’s head coaches,
Mary Hardin-Baylor was selected to repeat as the 2023 American Southwest Conference Women’s Golf Championship.
The Cru was able to tally 80 points and eight first place votes. They have won the ASC title three of the last four championships.
The next two spots in the poll were decided by a point as
UT Dallas came away with 67 points.
UC Santa Cruz follows with 66 points and one first place vote. This trio of schools finished in the top three in 2022: UMHB, UC Santa Cruz, and UT Dallas.
East Texas Baptist came in fourth with 54 points.
Concordia Texas (38),
Hardin-Simmons (36) and
LeTourneau (35) took fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively, after close results in points.
Rounding out the poll are
Howard Payne (16) and
McMurry (13).
Sixteen golfers are among those to watch in 2022-23. Nominated by the head coaches, the watch list includes seven who earned All-Conference honors in 2022, including the 2022 Golfer of the Year
Karen Alvarez from UT Dallas.
Fall tournaments will begin Monday, September 12, with the John Bohmann Memorial Intercollegiate.
