Whitney, Texas – American Southwest Conference golfers continued championship play Saturday at White Bluff, with Mary Hardin-Baylor holding the top spot in both the men’s and women’s team standings heading into the final round. After weather impacted round one play, golfers were welcomed by clearer skies and sunshine as competition resumed on White Bluff’s course. With one round remaining, both championships remain in focus following another day of strong performances across the field.
Women Round One
Mary Hardin-Baylor extended its lead after the second round of the 2026 ASC Women’s Golf Championship, posting a 304 (+16) to move ahead by 21 strokes heading into the final round.
UMHB leads the team standings at 617 (+41), followed by UC Santa Cruz in second at 638 (+62). Hardin-Simmons sits third at (+91), with East Texas Baptist in fourth at (+114).
Individually, UMHB’s Camryn Kiser holds the outright lead at 152 (+8) after a second-round 73 (+1). Brooke Norman is close behind in second at 153 (+9), while Samantha Shaw of UC Santa Cruz is tied for second at (+8). Julia Sosa sits fourth at (+10), followed by Olivia Lew in fifth and Shelly Areepitak in sixth. Katie Rhude is tied for seventh at (+12) alongside Shay West of Hardin-Simmons, while Izzy Crow is also tied in that group. Anastasia Stava leads East Texas Baptist in 15th.
Final round action is set for Sunday in Whitney at 8:30 a.m., where they will play split-tee with the men.
Men Round Two
After two rounds of play at the 2026 American Southwest Conference Men’s Golf Championship, Mary Hardin-Baylor extended its lead with the lowest team round of the tournament, carding an 11-under 277 on Saturday at White Bluff Old Course.
Hardin-Simmons University sits in second place at 616 (+40), followed by Howard Payne University in third at 634 (+58) and East Texas Baptist University in fourth at 635 (+59).
Individually, UMHB’s Cole MacMillan holds the tournament lead at 141 (-3), while teammate Carter Demske is second at 143 (-1). Lucas Latimer moved into third at 144 (E), and Cade Barone rounds out the top four at 145 (+1). UMHB’s Colton O'Dell and Evan Acevedo are tied for fifth at 148 (+4). Caden Fields, Caleb Modawell, and Caleb Kesting are not far behind the Cru players carding 150 (+6), 152 (+8), and 153 (+9) for the seventh, eighth, and ninth spots.
The final round of the 2026 ASC Men’s Golf Championship is set to tee off Sunday, May 3 at 8:30 a.m.
