CO-HITTER OF THE WEEK – Ella Salinas, INF, Fr., Hardin-Simmons

Ella Salinas (San Antonio, Texas) was responsible for a pair of crucial extra-base hits to lead the Cowgirls to two, one-run victories including a walk-off over Trinity to cap a 4-0 start. She clobbered a three-run homer to tie the game at 8 in an eventual 12-11 victory in game one, and then laced a two-RBI double to sweep the day with a 3-2 final. Salinas finished with five hits, two for doubles and the one round-tripper, to go with seven RBI.
CO-HITTER OF THE WEEK – Megan Todd, C/DP, Sr., UT Dallas
UT Dallas senior catcher
Megan Todd (Houston, Texas) hit .500 (6-for-12) with three doubles, two home runs, six runs and 10 RBI as the Comets opened the season 4-0 in Memphis. She had a RBI-double in a 7-0 win over Rhodes then followed by going 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and three runs scored in the 10-1 nightcap. Todd hit a three-run homer and scored three times in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Transylvania and finished the weekend with five RBI with a double and another homer in a 12-3, five-inning win against Webster. She also had a 1.250 slugging percentage and drew three walks.
CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Emilie Hoelscher, LHP, Sr., UT Dallas
UT Dallas senior left-hander
Emilie Hoelscher (Waco, Texas) went 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA and 16 strikeouts over 12 innings in Memphis. She opened the season by fanning seven and allowing two hits in five scoreless frames in a 7-0 victory at Rhodes. In Saturday's 4-1 win over Transylvania, Hoelscher struck out a career-high nine batters, allowing four hits, one run and three walks in the complete game victory.
CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Jenna Lewis, RHP, Sr., McMurry
McMurry senior right-hander
Jenna Lewis (Hearne, Texas) averaged 8.5 strikeouts during two complete game victories with one against Trinity and Southwestern. This included a 2-0 win-loss record with three runs (2 ER) allowed over 12 innings. Lewis helped send War Hawks to just second 4-0 start in school history.
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCE AT THE PLATE
McMurry junior shortstop
Grace Duecker (Fredericksburg, Texas) batted .364 with a double and run-batted-in to help the War Hawks to a 4-0 start.
From head coach David McNally - "Grace is always the one moving runners up with big at-bats to set up her teammates. She continued to do that during our opening weekend."

Hardin-Simmons senior right-hander
Haven Williams (Abilene, Texas) appeared in three-of-four games to start the campaign for the Cowgirls. In the 4-0 start, Williams was credited two wins and logged a 1.06 earned-run-average across 13.2 innings. In her first start, she went 4.2 innings and did not allow an earned run. After getting a win in relieve that saw two hits across two frames, Williams capped her effort in the circle with a complete game in a 3-2 final that saw one earned run charged.
