AMERICAN SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE MEN’S SOCCER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Carson Burden, F, Fr., UT Dallas
 UT Dallas freshman forward Carson Burden (McKinney, Texas) recorded a goal and an assist as the Comets went 2-0 at home. He assisted the game-winning goal in the 45th minute in Thursday's 2-1 victory over East Texas Baptist. Burden also scored the final goal of the game in a 3-0 win against LeTourneau Saturday.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Maxwell Winneker, D, Gr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons graduate student defender Maxwell Winneker (Coppell, Texas) scored two goals last Saturday night in the 6-0 win for Hardin-Simmons. He is currently second for HSU with five goals on the season, which ranks fifth in the American Southwest Conference. Winneker helped the Cowboy defense in the shutout of Howard Payne to hold the opponents to just nine shot attempts. 
 

OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES

Hardin-Simmons sophomore midfielder Brandon Krohn (Cedar Park, Texas) led the Cowboy attack assisting on two goals on the night in the 6-0 win over Howard Payne in ASC play on Saturday. His first assist was from a corner that led to the second Hardin-Simmons goal from Maxwell Winneker and Krohn later crossed a ball in to Liam Cisneros for the fifth Cowboy goal. Krohn currently leads the ASC and the Cowboy team with five assists this season.   
 
LeTourneau sophomore goalkeeper Edson Camara Martinez (Houston, Texas) came up big for LeTourneau in a 1-1 draw at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday. The sophomore made a career-high-tying nine saves in his 90 minutes of work at the net, with five of those saves coming in the second half, to preserve the tie.
 
UT Dallas sophomore goalkeeper Anthony Alston (Frisco Texas) recorded seven saves, a 0.50 goals against average and a shutout in a pair of home wins for UT Dallas. In Thursday's 2-1 victory over East Texas Baptist, he came up with five saves, including four in the second half. Alston had two saves in a 3-0 blanking of LeTourneau Saturday, one of which came on a penalty kick in the 62nd minute.
