AMERICAN SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Blessing Ngene, RB, Jr., Howard Payne
Howard Payne's Blessing Ngene led the Yellowjackets to victory over East Texas Baptist by rushing fo 172 yards on 24 attempts.  Ngene scored two touchdowns and averaged seven yards per carry.  Ngene also had 2 receptions for 37 yards and his longest cary of the day was for 44 yards.  
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Aidan Ross, DE, Jr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Aidan Ross from UMHB was huge in a Crusader defense that limited HSU to its lowest point total of the season. He totaled five tackles as a defensive lineman but was a nuisance to HSU quarterback Kyle Brown all game. Ross also had two tackles for 22 yards lost and 1.5 sacks for 21 yards lost. He tacked on one forced fumble in the contest. Ross also several times pressured the QB that led to one of the Cru's five sacks in the game.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mitchell White, K, Fr., East Texas Baptist
White went 4-of-4 in field goals on Saturday, keeping ETBU in the game versus HPU. He hit a career-long 45-yard field goal in the 2nd quarter and three in the first half for a 9-7 lead. He gave ETBU a 12-7 lead in the third quarter at 9:53 with his fourth field goal at 24 yards.  He have 64.3 yards per kickoff and had three touchbacks.  
 

OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Offensive
B.J. Stewart from Mary Hardin-Baylor had nine catches for 131 yards and one touchdown.  He had 47 yard long catch that help set up the game winning score from the Cru.  

Defensive
Hardin-Smmons Matt Pascuzzi had seven tackles, broke up a pass and returned a fumble 73 yards for a touchdown in the Cowboys' loss at UMHB.
 
Cade Rochinski from Howard Payne recorded eight solo tackles, and 10 total tackles in HPU's victory.  He had one tackle for a loss and one quaterback hurry.  
 
Special Teams
Noah Garcia from Hardin-Simmons had returns of 39 and 41 yards to set the Cowboys' offense up on a couple of occasions. He also had 10 catches for 78 yards and 45 yards rushing in the contest.
 
Eli Cobos from Howard Payne connected on four punts that averaged 46.8 yards.   Two of his punts landed inside the 20 and had one punt over 50 yards.  

Mary Hardin-Baylor's Logan Childs tallied 180 yards on nine punts for the Cru, his most crucial at the end of the game when he pinned the Cowboys at the three yard-line with 2:24 to play in the game.
