PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Rachel Okoye, G, Sr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor's Rachel Okoye totaled 36 points this week with a double-double against Texas Lutheran. She opened with 11 points, five assists and four steals against Concordia Texas. Okoye followed with 15 points and 11 rebounds against the Bulldogs, adding five assists and four steals. She also was a perfect 9-for-9 in foul shots on the week.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Anna Beamesderfer from East Texas Baptist posted back-to-back 10+ point games, averaging 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games over the Thanksgiving break. She had a career-high 15 points vs. Linfield in a comeback win as the game was moved to the auxiliary gym due to a leaky roof. She then had 10 points and seven rebounds vs. St. Thomas Houston in a loss. She shot .636 on the week and .714 vs. Linfield.
Hardin-Simmons Jacqueline Berry led the Cowgirl offense with 15 points in the win on the road at Southwestern University on Saturday. Berry shot 7-of-11 from the floor with five assists, three steals, and three rebounds playing 37 minutes of the game in the win for Hardin-Simmons.
Caitlyn Parsons from Howard Payne delivered a standout performance in their matchup against Southwestern University, posting 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting while grabbing eight rebounds in 35 minutes of play. Parson also had an assist and two blocks and was perfect from the three point line in the contest.
