Maddox Repeats as the DIII Honda Athlete of the Year Award Finalist for Softball

DALLAS, Texas – East Texas Baptist graduate student short stop Tristen Maddox was named the Collegiate Women Sports Awards DIII Honda Athlete of the Year Award Finalist for Softball for the second consecutive season.

Maddox started in all 48 games for the Tigers with 158 at bats. She has a .392 batting average with 62 hits, 53 RBI and 57 runs scored. Maddox holds a .854 slug percentage and a .492 on base percentage. She has hit 16 homeruns this season with 19 doubles and three triples. Maddox has also stolen 23 bases and took 22 walks.

Maddox was the Class of 2024 Honda Athlete of the Year last season. She also earned her fourth NFCA All-America honors this season. Maddox broke multiple ASC Career Records this season including: at bats (743), runs scored (247), hits (292), doubles (74), RBI (235) and total bases (548).

All Honda Sport Award finalists from DIII and DII will vie for the prestigious 2025 Honda Athlete of the Year award in their respective divisions, presented on a live telecast on CBS Sports Network on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 7 PM ET, from its new home in New York City.

The Honda Award finalists are recognized in 11 DIII and DII NCAA-sanctioned sports; cross country, basketball, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, and track & field.
