ASC Track & Field Athletes of the Week (3) | Hardin, Ramirez, Payne, Skinner

MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Brenton Hardin, Fr., East Texas Baptist
Brenton Hardin and the East Texas Baptist Tigers turned in a strong performance at the Rhodes College Invite in Tennessee last week. Hardin claimed first place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, competing against fields of 37 and 31 runners, with winning times of 10.51 and 21.80. His two first-place finishes contributed to ETBU’s 23 top-five finishes at the meet. Hardin and the Tigers will next compete at Stephen F. Austin on April 2–3.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Jordyn Ramirez, Fr., East Texas Baptist
Freshman Jordyn Ramirez recorded the top finish of the day for East Texas Baptist at the Rhodes College Invite in Memphis. Ramirez placed second out of nine competitors in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.14.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Davare Payne, Jr., Hardin-Simmons
Davare Payne competed at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, placing 11th among the nation’s top triple jumpers with a mark of 46-3 1/2 (14.11m). Following his national meet performance, Payne placed second in the long jump with a mark of 22-9 3/4 (6.95m). His performance at the NCAA Championships earned him second-team All-America honors, announced this week.
 
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Skyler Skinner, Fr., East Texas Baptist
Skyler Skinner earns her second ASC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor after placing fifth out of 23 participants in the discus with a throw of 123'10". The freshman has gotten off to a strong start this season and will look to continue her success April 2-3 at Stephen F. Austin.
