MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Donovan Simmons, Jr., Hardin-Simmons
Donovan Simmons and the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys competed at the Trinity University Invitational, where Simmons continued his streak of high finishes. He placed third out of 40 sprinters in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.73. Simmons followed with a second-place finish in a field of 43 in the 200-meter dash, clocking in a time of 21.84
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Riley Birck, Fr., Hardin-Simmons
Riley Birck competed in the 400-meter dash, finishing second in a field of 16 runners with a time of 59.82. Her mark was the top Division III time at the meet and sits just two seconds off the current top-50 mark in Division III (57.94).
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kilrean Brown, Fr., East Texas Baptist
Kilrean Brown competed in the long jump and triple jump at the Carl Knight Collegiate Invitational in Nacogdoches, Texas. In the triple jump, Brown recorded a personal-best mark of 45'7.75", ranking 27th in Division III this season. He also placed 14th out of 34 competitors in the long jump with a mark of 20'8.5".
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Lenora Busby, Fr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons freshman Lenora Busby competed in the discus at the Trinity University meet, finishing fourth out of 19 competitors. Busby recorded a throw of 121-0, just 10 feet shy of the Division III top-50 mark.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Talon Molten (East Texas Baptist) placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles and 14th in the 110-meter hurdles, recording the 11th-best time in the 400-meter hurdles in Division III this season.
Omar Harris (Hardin-Simmons) competed at Trinity, winning the javelin throw with a distance of 175-7.
Phoebe Dunham (East Texas Baptist) finished seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:16.37.
Mallory Frederick (East Texas Baptist) placed sixth out of 21 competitors in the high jump, clearing 1.43m, 1.48m, and 1.53m on her first attempts.
