Cedric Isom has been named a second straight season as the ASC East Preseason Player of the Year. He led the division in scoring and rebounding last season.

Richardson, Texas ---- Returning division players of the year, Cedric Isom (Newton, Texas/Newton HS) of East Texas Baptist University and Tommy Stolhandke (San Antonio, Texas/Churchill HS) of Texas Lutheran University, have been selected Preseason Players of the Year in the American Southwest Conference by vote of the head coaches, sports information directors and media.

Named a second straight season as the ASC East Preseason Player of the Year, Isom, a 6-2 junior guard, was named ASC East Player of the Year in 2004 after leading the division in scoring (20.9 ppg) and rebounding (8.6 rpg). Isom, an All-Conference and D3hoops.com All-Region pick in 2004, has twice earned ASC All-East honors (2003, ’04). He was the 2003 ASC East Division Freshman of the Year after leading ETBU to its first-ever ASC East title.

Tommy Stolhandke, the 2004 Jostens Trophy finalist and co-ASC West Player of the Year, was selected ASC West Preseason Player of the Year

Stolhandske, the 2004 Jostens Trophy finalist and co-ASC West Player of the Year, was selected ASC West Preseason Player of the Year in addition to Preseason All-America Honorable Mention by Street & Smith’s. The 6-6 senior post player led the ASC and ranked third in NCAA Division III rebounding (14.0 rpg) a year ago while averaging 20.1 points. A CoSIDA Academic All-America Second-Team and D3hoops.com All-South Region honoree in 2004, Stolhandske has twice been named an All-Conference and All-ASC West selection (2003, ’04), and was the 2002 co-ASC West Freshman of the Year.
