Kerrville, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's golf team posted the low round of the day for the second straight day and the Cru women rolled to a 24-stroke victory at the Schreiner Women's Fall Classic Tuesday. 
The UMHB women fired a 314-329=643 team total to beat tournament host Schreiner University (325-342=667) by 24 shots. Trinity University finished third with a 325-357=682, Concordia Texas took fourth place after shooting 338-352=690, Hardin-Simmons carded a 364-365=729 for fifth place and U.T.-Dallas was sixth at 406-428=634.
The Cru women also took the top three places individually. Freshman Kristen Cain won her first collegiate title after posting a 76-81=157. Cain edged fellow freshman teammate Taylor O'Rear's 81-78=159 by two strokes. Sara Eckert took third place after firing a 76-86=162. Kelly Gonyea tied for fifth place after shooting 81-84=165, Allison Holly tied for seventh place with an 81-85=166, Emily Santos recorded an 88-84=172 to tie for 15th place and Victoria Thane took 19th place after carding an 87-89=176.
The two-day, 36-hole event was played on a par-71, 5,842-yard layout at Scott Schreiner Golf Course in Kerrville. The Cru women will return to action with the Alamo City Classic, hosted by Trinity University on October 24th and 25th in Spring Branch.
