ASC Track and Field Athletes qualify for Outdoor Division III Championships

RICHARDSON, Texas – 2023 NCAA Division III men’s and women’s outdoor track and field championship qualifiers were announced Friday (May 19). McMurry, East Texas Baptist, and LeTourneau had student-athletes qualify. The top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.
 
Eight men’s events and one women’s event will feature at least one American Southwest Conference student-athlete. McMurry Dontre Sinegal and East Texas Baptist Brandon Powell will be in three events each. Sinegal was the 2023 ASC Men’s Track and Field High Point Athlete. Powell earned Outstanding Track Athlete. Jack Miller from LeTourneau will compete in Pole Vault, which helped him claim Outstanding Field Athlete at the league championship. Two women’s track and field qualifiers will compete in the javelin: McMurry's Allissa Rodriguez and East Texas Baptist's Neelie Schiel. Schiel was selected ASC Women's Track and Field Outstanding Field Athlete.
 
The championships will be held May 25-27 at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex at St. John Fisher in Rochester, New York.
