PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Armonie Ramey, G, Sr., Howard Payne
Howard Payne's Armonie Ramey delivered a dominant all-around performance in Howard Payne’s 98-point outing against McMurry. Ramey erupted for 43 points on 15-of-27 shooting while adding nine rebounds, six steals, four assists, and one foul in 37 minutes. Ramey's aggressive play allowed him to add 11 made free-throws.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
East Texas Baptist Michael Roberts helped ETBU to their second win of the year on Sunday as ETBU went 1-2 on the week. He averaged 16.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, shooting 52% from the floor. In the first game of the week vs. Lyon College, he had 21 points and six rebounds with two assists. He then shot 75% against Rhodes College, scoring 13 points and grabbing five rebounds. In the win over Hendrix, he added 14 points and six rebounds, shooting 45% in 30 minutes of play.
Chris Bryant led Hardin-Simmons offense with 19.5 points a game through two losses on the week against Concordia Texas and Texas Lutheran. Bryant scored 22 points with eight rebounds against CTX and scored 17 points with eight rebounds against TLU. He finished with three blocks and five steals and in the two games he shot 62 percent from the floor.
Donta Coady from Mary Hardin-Baylor drained four three-pointers with five total field goals against Belhaven, totaling 16 points. He added two free throws and six rebounds with one assist, helping the Cru to 117 points in UMHB's first win of hte season.
