PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Armonie Ramey, G, Sr., Howard Payne
Howard Payne's Armonie Ramey was a force yet again this week averaging 16.5 ppg along with 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals in nearly 25 minutes of play. In a victory against Texas Luthern Ramey scored 19 points, had four rebounds, and four steals. While, in a game against Southwestern he scored 14 points and pulled down 11 boards.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
East Texas Baptist Michael Roberts averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in two games over Thanksgiving break. He had 20 points in a loss to Southwestern with nine rebounds, shooting 57 percent from the floor. He then had 15 points and six rebounds vs. Concordia Texas.
Tyler Williams led the Hardin-Simmons Cowboys averaging 11.5 points a game in two tight losses on the week. Williams scored 13 points in the game against the University of St. Thomas Texas on Tuesday and he scored 10 points in the loss to Trinity on Sunday. He played 22 minutes against St. Thomas and shot five for eight from the floor and versus Trinity he added three assists and five rebounds.
Hudson Johnson for Mary Hardin-Baylor totaled 35 points in a pair of contests last week, scoring 18 in the Cru's win over Centenary and 17 at St. Thomas. He went 7-for-10 beyond the arc and 14-for-30 from the field, shooting .467 overall and .700 in threes. Johnson added seven rebounds, five assists and two steals on the week.
