MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Zach Farris, Jr., LeTourneau
LeTourneau junior Zach Farris (Lucas, Texas) won at the top spot in both doubles and singles as LeTourneau narrowly fell at St. Thomas in the season opener. Farris combined with Fernando Vazquez for a 7-6(1) win over UST's Steven Kuang and Raja Pandya. In singles, Farris coasted past Kuang by a 6-4, 6-1 final.
 
WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Megan Zeng, Sr., UT Dallas
UT Dallas senior Megan Zeng (Austin, Texas) picked up the Comets' only point in a 6-1 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State Friday. She won at number two singles over Larissa Giraldi-Correa 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5). Zeng also teamed with Reika Nagai for a 6-2 loss at number one doubles.
  OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
 
Hardin-Simmons sophomore Payne Smith (San Angelo, Texas) competed in a close No.1 singles matchup against No.15 Trinity’s Jared Perry. Smith held Perry to a close match, forcing extra play before falling with a final score of 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). He also competed in No.2 doubles in the match.
