MARSHALL, Texas – The East Texas Baptist University softball team advances to the NCAA DIII Softball Championship Tournament Super Regionals with a 7-6 win over St. Thomas (TX) on Saturday in Marshall.

The Tigers were first to score, but St. Thomas took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third. A three-run home run in the bottom of the frame put ETBU back head 4-3. The Celts reclaimed the advantage in the fifth inning with three runs to go up 6-4. ETBU tied it up in the bottom of the seventh with a home run before Emma Bell hit a walk-off double to seal the victory.

ETBU will face Texas Lutheran in the NCAA Super Regional round next week.

McKenzie Jones earned the win for the Tigers pitching 2.0 innings allowing no runs and just one hit with one strikeout. Hughes took the loss for the Celts with one earned run on one hit.

Emma Bell led ETBU, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. Mallory Pyle recorded two hits in the contest.
