MARSHALL, Texas – The East Texas Baptist University softball team advances to the NCAA DIII Softball Championship Tournament Super Regionals with a 7-6 win over St. Thomas (TX) on Saturday in Marshall.
The Tigers were first to score, but St. Thomas took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third. A three-run home run in the bottom of the frame put ETBU back head 4-3. The Celts reclaimed the advantage in the fifth inning with three runs to go up 6-4. ETBU tied it up in the bottom of the seventh with a home run before Emma Bell hit a walk-off double to seal the victory.
ETBU will face Texas Lutheran in the NCAA Super Regional round next week.
