NFCA Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hardin-Simmons freshman pitcher Gabby Montanez was named as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association DIII Freshman of the Year Finalist, released on Tuesday.

Montanez led the Cowgirls with a 1.97 ERA and a 17-2 record. She pitched 124.1 innings with 12 complete games and five shutouts. Montanez had 57 strikeouts and was named ASC Freshman of the Year.  

Ten finalists, one from each of the NCAA’s 10 regions, have been selected by the Association’s Division III All-America Committee for the 2025 NFCA Division III Freshman of the Year award.
