CLAREMONT, California – The East Texas Baptist women’s tennis team earned a 4-0 sweep over Edgewood College to advance to the NCAA DIII Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament Second Round in Claremont.

The Tigers earned the first point of the match with a 6-1 doubles Flight 2 win from Jayde Childress and Fernanda Ruiz Burkart and a 6-0 Flight 3 win by Kristyn Dunn and Isabelle Macquet.

ETBU added a second point with a 6-0, 6-1 singles Flight 6 win from Macquet. Monique Ybarra added the third point for the Tigers with a 6-1, 6-1 win in Flight 1. Bailey Smith clinched the match for ETBU with a 6-2, 6-0 Flight 2 victory.

The Tigers will face Pomona-Pitzer in the Second Round at 1:00 PM (CT) on Saturday, May 10^th in Claremont.
