2025 ASC Fall Preview | Notes and Links

DALLAS, Texas – The American Southwest Conference opens the 2025-2026 season on Friday, August 29th.

Upcoming Meets: Mary Hardin-Baylor opens the season on Saturday, August 30th at theStormy Seas Opener in Georgetown. On Saturday, September 6th, Hardin-Simmons will have their first meet at the University of Dallas while East Texas Baptist competes at UT Tyler.

Football

Upcoming Games: The 2025 ASC football season will kickoff on Thursday, September 4th as Howard Payne takes on Pacific (Ore.). Saturday, September 6th will feature a trio of games. UMHB hosts Bethel University (Tenn.), Hardin-Simmons travels to California to face Chapman and East Texas Baptist hosts Lyon.

In the Polls: Hardin-Simmons ranked No. 6 in both the D3football.com and AFCA preseason polls followed by Mary Hardin-Baylor in the No. 8 slot.

Preseason All-Americans: Three Hardin-Simmons University Football Student-Athletes were named to the D3football.com Preseason All-America Teams. Hayden Philpot, a senior center from Decatur, was selected First Team Offense. Kaiden Roden, a junior linebacker from Quinlan, was selected Second Team Defense. Bode Walters, a senior guard from Marion, was selected Third Team Offense.

Men’s and Women’s Golf

Upcoming Tournaments: The 2025-26 season begins on Monday, September 8th. The Mary Hardin-Baylor men compete at the Texas Tri-Tourney in Whitney while the Hardin-Simmons men and women play at the Tempest Invitational in Gladewater. The Mary Hardin-Baylor women open the season on Saturday, September 13th at the NCAA National Preview in Desert, CA. Howard Payne men will begin fall action on Saturday, September 26th in Granbury while the women compete in Ft. Worth on Monday, October 13th.

Men’s Soccer

Upcoming Matches: The 2025 season kicks off on Friday, August 29th with four matches. East Texas Baptist takes on Dallas in Irving while Hardin-Simmons faces Texas Lutheran in Seguin. Howard Payne travels to Arkansas to play Ozarks and Mary Hardin-Baylor hosts Schreiner. Saturday, August 30th has a pair of matches with Hardin-Simmons taking on Schreiner and Mary Hardin-Baylor facing Texas Lutheran in Belton. The weekend closes with a duo of contests on Sunday, August 31st between East Texas Baptist and Ozarks in Marshall and Howard Payne and Austin in Sherman.

Women’s Soccer

Upcoming Matches: Friday, August 29th holds four matches to start the season. Howard Payne travels to Arkansas to take on Ozarks while Hardin-Simmons heads to Irving to face Dallas. Mary Hardin-Baylor hosts Concordia Texas and East Texas Baptist travels to California and will take on Chicago. Sunday, August 31st will have a trio of contests. Mary Hardin-Baylor hosts Puget Sound, Howard Payne faces Centenary in Shreveport and East Texas Baptist plays Linfield in California.

Volleyball

Upcoming Matches: The 2025 Volleyball season opens with 15 matches over the weekend of Friday, August 29th. East Texas Baptist travels to Colorado Springs where they will take on Edgewood, Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Colorado College and Wisconsin-Superior. Howard Payne heads to Irving and will face Rhodes, Millsaps, Arcadia and New England College. Hardin-Simmons and Mary Hardin-Baylor will both compete in Houston against Adrian College, Alverno, St. Thomas (TX) and Schreiner.

In the Polls: East Texas Baptist was ranked No. 14 in the AVCA/TARAFLEX Division III Women’s Volleyball Preseason Poll.
