AMERICAN SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

HITTER OF THE WEEK – Emma Boren, Fr., INF, East Texas Baptist
Freshman Emma Boren earns her first ASC Hitter of The Week honor after going .667 at the plate and helping the East Texas Baptist Tigers to a 4-0 week. In game one against University of Dallas, Boren was perfect from the plate going 2-of-2 with a triple and 2 RBI. She then followed that up with another perfect performance at the plate in a 12-0 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor, going 3-for-3.

Through four ETBU games, Boren finished at 6-hits, 3-runs, and 7-RBI, including a home run in game one against Mary Hardin-Baylor, helping the Tigers to a 4-1 victory.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – McKenzie Jones, Jr., P, East Texas Baptist
McKenzie Jones went 2-0 on the week, pitching two shutouts for the East Texas Baptist Tigers against University of Dallas and Mary Hardin-Baylor. Against Dallas, she pitched 5.0 innings, holding opposing hitters to a .118 average, recording 7 strikeouts and retiring the first 12 batters she faced.

In a 12-0 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor, Jones again limited opponents to a .118 batting average, striking out five and retiring the final eight batters of the game. She finished the week with 12 strikeouts and allowed just four hits over two games, earning two wins for the Tigers.


OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES

HITTERS
Ava Jolley of Mary Hardin-Baylor went 9-for-16 over six games, recording a hit in five of six contests. She went 3-for-3 in game one against East Texas Baptist.

PITCHERS
Hardin-Simmons freshman Kimma Kincaid pitched three scoreless innings against McMurry in a 5-2 win, allowing just two hits in 10 at-bats (.200).
