AMERICAN SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Brenton Hardin, Fr., East Texas Baptist
Brenton Hardin and the East Texas Baptist Tigers competed at the 2026 War Hawk Classic in Abilene, Texas. Hardin placed 1^st in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.54, finishing ahead of nine competitors. He also ran on the 4x100 meter-relay team, who won first place in the event with a time of 40.85. This marks the third-fastest mark in Division III this season.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Jordyn Ramirez, Fr., East Texas Baptist
Jordyn Ramirez competed in the 400 meter dash, finishing 5^th with a time of 59.10, a one minute improvement since the Rhodes Classic on March 21. She also participated in the high jump, finishing in 9^th place overall.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Jahymeer Larkins, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Jahymeer Larkins set a Hardin-Simmons program record in the discus with a throw of 172-10, surpassing the previous mark set in 2015. He placed 4^th in a field of 44 competitors and recorded the top Division III mark in the competition by 12 feet.

WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Lenora Busby, Fr., Hardin-Simmons
Lenora Busby competed in both discus and shot put at the McMurry meet, placing 7^th  and 15^th, respectively. She recorded a discus throw of 126-4 in a field of 28 competitors and a shot put mark of 30-5 1/2 against 19 competitors. This marks back-to-back Field Athlete of the Week honors for Busby and her third of the season.

OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Muizq Gunnel (East Texas Baptist) placed 4th in the high jump, clearing both 6'1.5" and 6'3.5"

Caitlynn Johnson (East Texas Baptist) finished 7th in the triple jump with a mark of 33'2.25", the third-best Division III distance in the event.
