MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sam Black, Sr., East Texas Baptist
Sam Black posted a 2-0 record on the week, earning victories in both singles and doubles as East Texas Baptist defeated LeTourneau 7-0. Black contributed two team points in the sweep. At No. 1 doubles, he teamed with Max Karseno for a 6-4 win over Timothy Black and Zachary Farris. He followed with a victory at No. 1 singles, defeating Farris 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) in a tie-breaking win.
WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Monique Ybarra, Jr., East Texas Baptist
Monique Ybarra went 2-0 on the week, leading East Texas Baptist to a 6-1 victory over LeTourneau. Competing at No. 1 singles, Ybarra earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Kylie Weeks. She also paired with Isabella Macquet at No. 1 doubles to secure a 6-0 victory.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Payne Smith (Hardin-Simmons) competed at the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles against No. 16 Trinity and NAIA No. 11 Our Lady of the Lake. Against OLLU, Smith earned a three-set singles victory, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, and added a 6-4 doubles win alongside Gabriel Harris.
Jolin Ha (Mary Hardin-Baylor) helped lead the Cru to a 7-0 sweep over Berry, earning wins at both No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles. Ha secured a 7-6 doubles victory before posting a 6-2, 6-2 win in singles.
