ABILENE, Texas — Howard Payne used its stingy 2-3 zone to limit McMurry to 25.8 percent shooting and cruised to the American Southwest Conference title, winning 75-49 Sunday afternoon at the Mabee Complex on the Hardin-Simmons campus.

Freshman Meia Daniels had 20 points and 11 rebounds off the bench and Angie Evans (18), Kami Collins (12) and Rachell Offineer (12) all hit double figures for the Yellowjackets. Collins added a team-high 12 rebounds. Carli Engelke had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Tarra Richardson added 18 pointHoward Payne used a 10-0 run to close the first half and take a 29-25 lead into the lockerrom.
