RICHARDSON, Texas----- American Southwest Conference Division Players of the Year Cedric Isom of East Texas Baptist University and Calvin Nite of Hardin-Simmons University headline the list of 2005 men’s basketball postseason award winners announced by the conference. The all-conference and all-division teams and awards are selected by vote of the 16 league head coaches.

A junior guard, Isom (Newton, Texas) won his second consecutive ASC East Division Player of the Year award after leading the conference in scoring (24.1 ave.) and ranking third in rebounding (9.1 ave.). Isom was a unanimous pick as division player of the year, also earning a second All-ASC and a third All-East Division team award. Isom led East Texas Baptist to a berth in the ASC Championship Tournament, scoring 24 points with five assists and five steals in a quarterfinal loss to Sul Ross State.

Senior forward Nite (Amarillo, Texas/Randall HS/Abilene Christian U.) was voted ASC West Division Player of the Year after leading Hardin-Simmons to the tri-division championship and its first trip to the ASC Tournament. Nite poured-in 44 points with 14 rebounds in two conference playoff games, including 25 points in the quarterfinal win vs. Ozarks. Ranked among the top 15 in four conference statistical categories, Nite was also voted ASC West Newcomer of the Year, All-ASC and All-West Division after averaging 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds during the season.

Joining Isom and Nite on the all-conference team are senior center and Division III Josten's Trophy two-time finalist Tommy Stolhandske (San Antonio, Texas/Churchill HS), junior guard Sidney Hooper (Andrews, Texas/AHS) of Sul Ross State University and sophomore post Travis Tennison (San Antonio, Texas/Converse-Judson HS) of McMurry University. All three were also named to the All-West Division team. Stolhandske, a three-time all-conference selection, averaged 18.8 points and finished second among ASC rebounders with a 9.4 average. Hooper finished the year as the conference's second-leading scorer (22.2 ave.) while netting a conference-best 88 three-point field goals. Tennison is the only ASC player to average a double-double, leading the league in rebounding (11.0 ave.) while scoring 17.4 points.
