EAST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Makenzi May, Jr., G, Texas-Tyler
Junior guard Makenzi May (Mont Belvieu, Texas / Barbers Hill HS) continued her emergence as one of the nation's most dangerous offensive threats last week when she averaged 21.5 points per game with 11 three-pointers in a pair of wins over East Texas Baptist and Louisiana College. May finished the week 11-of-19 behind the arc and shot 14-of-26 from the field in addition to 11 rebounds as the Patriots extended their winning streak to 13 games and their overall record to 21-1.
WEST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Danyel Bradley, Sr., G, Howard Payne
Senior guard Danyel Bradley (DeSoto, Texas / Bishop Lynch HS) led the Lady Jackets in wins over McMurry and Hardin-Simmons. Bradley scored 18 points with three assists and three steals against McMurry. Later she would score 30 points in a victory over Hardin-Simmons. She was just shy of a possible triple-double adding 10 assists and seven steals to her numbers at HSU.

EAST DIVISION
Belhaven senior forward Jacinda Smith (Jackson, Miss. / Murray HS) finished the week averaging 12.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game and 11 total blocks. Smith had a career day against Texas Dallas on Saturday, as she finished one block shy of a triple-double. Smith set the school record in blocks with nine, breaking the record of eight set last season. She finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, both new career highs against the Comets.
LeTourneau senior forward Ashley Stephens (Houston, Texas / C.E. King HS) had a pair of strong performances to lead in a pair of wins over Louisiana College and East Texas Baptist. Stephens had 15 points and nine rebounds in just 23 minutes in the win over LC to start the week and followed with a solid all-around game against East Texas Baptist with 12 points, five rebounds, a block and two steals. Stephens hit 12-of-17 from the field for a .706 percentage and made a three-pointer in both games.
Ozarks senior guard Ashley Hipps (Greenland, Ark. / Greenland HS) hit 10 three-pointers to average 22.0 points per game last week. Hipps hit six from long-range, handed out nine assists and grabbed six rebounds against Texas Dallas. In a win over Belhaven, Hipps scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Texas Dallas senior Jasmine Lopez (Houston, Texas / Sam Houston HS) averaged 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting .467 from three-point range to lead the Comets to a 2-1 week. Lopez opened the week with a 19-point performance, hitting five 3-pointers in an 80-74 overtime win over Ozarks. She closed the week with a season-high 21 points, hitting five more treys, in a 70-55 home win over Belhaven.
WEST DIVISION
Concordia Texas sophomore guard Jaela Dejean (Houston, Texas / Concordia Chicago) had a strong performance for the Tornados Saturday against Mary Hardin-Baylor, scoring 21 points from a 7-of-10 performance from the field. It was her fourth-straight game in double-digit scoring and 14th overall of the season.
Hardin-Simmons freshman center Addison Garcia (The Colony, Texas / Prestonwood Christian HS) had a double-double in both games as the Cowgirls split against Sul Ross State and Howard Payne. Shot 65 percent from the field and averaged 13.5 points and 10.5 rebounds.
Mary Hardin-Baylor senior guard Kourtney Bevers (Liberty Hill, Texas / Liberty Hill HS) came off the bench to average 11.5 points in two Cru wins last week. She went 4-of-6 from the three-point line and had an impressive 9-of-10 performance in free throws. Against Texas Dallas, Bevers hit the go-ahead three-pointer and scored five points in the final 19 seconds of play to secure the victory. Against Concordia Texas, Bevers hit 4-of-4 free throws, added five rebounds, three assists and one steal. She totaled 23 points in two contests, recording 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
