RICHARDSON, Texas – The
No. 1 seed Mary Hardin-Baylor defeated the
No. 4 seed McMurry 1-0 on Thursday evening to advance to the Championship Game. The Cru outshot McMurry 13-2 but did not break through until the 85
th minute on a penalty kick. Maria Rico scored the game-winner.
Mary Hardin-Baylor kept its unbeaten season going as it improved to 16-0-1. The Cru won their 13th ASC Tournament game and will host the their first ASC Championship Game on Saturday at 6 p.m. The Cru tied Hardin-Simmons 0-0, but fell 4-3 on kicks. McMurry won for the third time in the ASC Tournament on Tuesday with a 1-0 final over UT Dallas. The War Hawks end their season with an 8-6-4 record.

The No. 2 seed Hardin-Simmons defeated the
No. 3 seed Concordia Texas 1-0 on Thursday night to advance to the Championship Game. Both teams played a competitive first half that was scoreless at the break. Kaylea Willis got the lone score of the game in the 48
th minute on an assist from Kaylee Maddox. Maddox had a set piece to give the conference leader another assist. Haley Foley made nine saves in goal for HSU to preserve the shutout.
Hardin-Simmons won its third straight and improved to 12-2-2. The Cowgirls won for the 49th time in the conference tournament and are back in the finals for the 22nd straight season. HSU has won the last 19 titles, including the above mentioned showdown with UMHB. Concordia Texas prevailed 3-0 over Sul Ross State on Tuesday. That was the team’s third win in tournament history. The Tornados end the season with a 9-6-3 record.
