PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Hudson Johnson, Sr., G., Mary Hardin-Baylor

Hudson Johnson of Mary Hardin-Baylor has been named the Week 11 American Southwest Conference Player of the Week after averaging 25.0 points per game in two Cru wins against ASC opponents East Texas Baptist and Howard Payne. This marks Johnson’s third time being named ASC Player of the Week during the 2025–26 season.

Johnson scored 24 points to lead all scorers in a 71–62 victory over East Texas Baptist on Saturday, then followed with a 26-point performance, shooting 10-19 from the field. Over the two games, Johnson shot 47% from the field and 79% from the free throw line. UMHB is currently 2–0 in conference play and will face East Texas Baptist for the second time this season Saturday, February 7 at 3:00 P.M.



OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES

Michael Roberts of East Texas Baptist averaged a double-double during Week 11, with averages of 13.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. Roberts is a senior for the Tigers and was named ASC Week 2 Player of the Week.

Chris Bryant had a strong shooting night, making 6 out of 9 shots and scoring 17 points in a Hardin-Simmons victory over East Texas Baptist. Bryant also brought in six rebounds and three assists. 

Howard Payne guard Ben Phillip averaged 14 points and 3.5 rebounds per game during Week 11 for the Yellow Jackets. Phillip led all Howard Payne scorers with 22 points, on 8-18 shooting in a HPU match up against UMHB on Saturday.
