SAVANNAH, Ga. - Former Sul Ross State University wide receiver Cordrick Mobley was selected in the first by the Savannah Steam of the American Indoor Football League in the “First in the Nation Draft” held on February 24, according to Dennis Wilson of collegesportsintheusa.com.

Mobley is currently attending the Steam’s pre-season camp after participating in the 2015 USA College Football Bowl in Jackson, Miss., during the Martin Luther King Day weekend. The Steam are preparing for their season-opener against the Cleveland Saints on the road on March 28. They are scheduled to open at home the following Saturday against their in-state rival, the Atlanta Sharks.

Mobley earned second team All-American Southwest Conference honors as a senior. He caught 15 passes for 320 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 21.3 yards per reception. He finished his Sul Ross State career with 34 touchdowns.

“I’m pleased to see Cordrick have an opportunity to continue his career,” said Sul Ross State Head Coach John Pearce. “He had a great year for us, and we wish him all the best in the future.”
