MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Alec Rule, Sr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Alec Rule went 2-0 on the week, helping Mary Hardin-Baylor to a 5-2 victory over East Texas Baptist. Competing at No. 1 singles, Rule earned a three-set win, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. He also secured a 6-3 victory at the No. 3 doubles position. The Cru finished the week 1-0, improving to 2-0 in conference play.
WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Monique Ybarra, Jr., East Texas Baptist
Monique Ybarra posted a 3-1 overall record while competing at the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles. In a win over Howard Payne, she earned a 6-2, 6-0 singles victory over Victoria Ramos and added a doubles win by forfeit. Against Mary Hardin-Baylor, Ybarra claimed a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory over Jolin Ha, marking ETBU’s lone point in the match. Ybarra earns her fourth ASC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honor.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Bailee Lane (Mary Hardin-Baylor) went 2-0 on the week, helping the Cru maintain first place in the ASC standings. She rallied for a three-set win at No. 3 singles, 5-6, 7-6, 7-2, and added a 7-5 victory at the No. 1 doubles position.
Max Karseno (East Texas Baptist) helped the Tigers to a 1-1 week against Howard Payne and Mary Hardin-Baylor. Karseno and Sam Black went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with wins of 6-4 and 6-1. He also posted two victories at No. 6 singles, winning 7-6 (10-6), 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0.
